kinda sad video , not exactly how you make one of the best DH racer ever shine on screen. And Sam Hill can shine, everyone who as seen him race a mountain bike knows. there is one thing i really like see Sam Hill do, : pin a mountain bike down a steep proper track. Nobody does it like him. Some migh have been faster in some races(not alot tho), some migh have more style, but in the end, he's exeptional on a bike, i dont think someone could argue about that. not really the funnest guy to see chill around his house, drive around, show his shinny stuff, ride MX, ....talk.

it's pretty well known that the Fox forks and shox are very good. They also provide on of the best line-up out there. Their prices are ok too. but to sell a DH fork on the argument that it's easy to turn the stanchion in the lower is a poor attemp.

i have always been 100% for innovation , new concepts and progression but facing this , i cant get over the fact that ; most rider ahave fixed derailler problems , on the trails , in races , whit anything to could get their hands on. shifter , deraillers and cables are changed in parking lots in minutes for a couple of bucks (ok , maybe $50-$75 for rear SLX of X7 that can get you going) i dont see that hapenning whit these hydrualics , regardless of their price. that's a major setback. it's the same whit hydro brakes , i know. but the performance from hydro brakes makes the trouble (when compared to machanical disk brakes) worth it. i dont see that benefit for running a hydraulic transmission setup. only time will tell i guess.

the gnar of that section , you would have not belived. the skill to go down it on a XC racer bike !!!!.. to be 100% honest , a lot of people puting stupid comments about this pictures would have stoped dead on a DH bike faced whit that section. yhea...sure enough , most of us big bike riders would have found a line to go trough it pretty fast but on a XC bike ?.... it was scary as hell

i agree whit a lot of people saying this is the best article on PB ever, if not , it's definatly the most memorable. hard to describe how it related to mountainnikers , basicaly , it hits our heart and soul. not one mountain biker i know wouldnt want to be there , ridding that exposed , mountain dorsal trail. hard to grasp the grandure and beauty of Alaska , final frontiere sumerizes it's pretty good. make us feel small , ....as we should be.

i would very much like to know the reasons why this hapened. working in management everyday for years now , trough good and bad economy ,i would be very curious to know what went so wrong. kinda like Iron Horse ...iconic , ...multiple podiums ....i see the Sunday as a "game changing frame" in DH , and the company goes down when at the top ?...kinda same story no ? wasnt there a bunch of Race Face adds on PInkbike days ago featuring crank sets (Back in Black ad) Wade Simmons , an others ? , that was like less than a week ago. Maybe i'm wrong and they were from a different brand. anyways , very sad to see a true moutain bike gear and parts company go down.

now that is the best riding video i have seen in a long time , i mean , this vid is Collective-Anthill good. and the trail...Jeezz...from exposed dry peek to lush forest on a narrow flowy single track.it cannot be better IMO. yhea , partpating in those avalanche cup races must be way at the top of the top races you can do. So unique. ...altough....they have to get rid of that awful...most anoying...impossible ...bad bad euro dance song that they blast off loud speakers at the start of every stage....

Check the answer on Pinkbike regarding the Reign back shock. You are right about the travel on the Reign fitted with it's standard shock being 6 " travel.
I have however changed the back shock to another shock (Fox Vanilla coil) which has a longer travel (2,25") but still has the same eye to eye length to that of the fox air shock. I find a great improvement for harder riding, but I had to increase the front suspension to 160 mm in order to balance the front and back suspension.
Do not have a photo at hand, but will send one if you don't believe me.
Cheers
